Terracotta Warriors at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

On Wednesday I visited the Terracotta Warriors exhibit on show at the Victoria Museum of Fine Arts. The visit was organized by Smithsonian Associates with members transported from the Washington, DC area to Richmond via bus. I flew in from Orlando on the morning of in order to participate.

The tour was led by an energetic and informed docent named William The combination of the quality of the pieces and his knowledge combined to make this a very satisfactory experience. The showing features a number of the Terracotta Warriors found in association with the burial mound of the first ruler of the Qin Dynasty (221 - 206 BC) and other period artifacts. I provide pictures of selected exhibit pieces below.
